Navigate the diocesan web design tutorials at left. These tutorials represent just a sampling of technolgies available to web designers.

Administrative tutorials are password-protected for just webmasters with their own domain name (or sub-domain). Contact the CEM Media Center at 320-252-1021 to gain acces.

Before You Begin

These tutorials are designed for persons with previous design experience. Persons new to web design should enroll in classes, such as those offered by the CEM Media Center.

Uploading Your Site

Your site can be uploaded to (stored to) the diocesan server using either FTP or WebDAV communiations protocols. FTP access can only be provided by the CEM Media Center at 320-252-1021. WebDAV can be provided by the webmaster for your domain name (or sub-domain).

All files and folders of your web site should avoid special characters. Filenames can include letters, numbers, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and of course one period (.). Avoid other characters, such as spaces ( ), commas(,), slashes (/), and colons (:).

Use caution when deleting files. All major sites include three items that should not be deleted. These are errors, robots.txt, and WS_Admin.
