Events

From the Pastor:

This past Wednesday, three of our Religious Ed students, Vincent Schleppenbach, Brent Heinen and Paige Bierschbach, received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.  This Sunday, they will make their First Holy Communion and receive Jesus’ body and blood for the first time.  Hopefully they will continue to receive Jesus all through their lives.  Let us remember them in our prayers as they grow in their faith and love for God.

The collection for Mission Sunday will be taken next weekend, May 3rd and 4th.  Sister Clara Stang, a Franciscan Sister from Little Falls, will be our guest speaker at both Masses.  Please welcome her.

The Feast of the Ascension, which falls on May 1st, has been moved to May 4th, the 7th Sunday of Easter.

This coming Thursday, May 1st, the parish of St. James here in Jacobs Prairie will be having the Mass at Chapel Hill.  Please come and support our parish by attending if you are able.  Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Mass.

German Fest: Work Sign up sheets are located in the back of church.  Chairpersons should sign up on their activity for the shifts they will be present for.  The meal is looking a little weak, so, for some incentive you will receive 2 free drink tickets, pop or beer, for working!!  Together we will have another successful year.  Posters are attached to this bulletin (and more in the back of church) Hang them at work, store etc. Lets get the word out! Donations for the Silent auction can be made to Ann Jonas (685-4158 or ajonas@csbsju.edu). Quilt pictures are available to look at in the back of church and on the website.

Welcoming Sunday:  for every parishioner of St. James to come and visit with the newer parishioners.

This event will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at 10:00 am (after Mass) in the church basement.  A lunch of Sloppy Joes, chips, baked beans, bars, and juice/coffee will be served. In order to have enough food on hand, we will need you to RSVP if you are coming to this wonderful event. Please RSVP to Rose Mueller at 685-8982 by Thursday, May 1, 2008. We hope to see you all there! Any questions, call Rose.
