From the Pastor:

On this Third Sunday of Easter we hear in today’s gospel again how Jesus can put meaning into our lives in spite of sadness, pain and suffering.

The Easter readings remind us over and over about Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead, and yes, some day our own Resurrection from the dead as well.  Maybe there are far more people in our world today than we realize whose faith does not seem to enable them to believe in Jesus’ Resurrection, and yes, their own as well.  They seem to be merely existing without much thought and belief in God and in an afterlife.  If you are ever wondering who or what to pray for, that would be a powerful and meaningful ministry.

Poetry can be a way of deep soul searching for us human beings.  I believe this poem I read is a nice Easter Message.

My Dream

By Ruby Nelson of Parkers Prairie

I dreamed I saw the angels, I heard them sweetly sing.

The saints had gathered all around,

to worship Christ the King.

And then I saw my loved ones

as they entered heaven’s door.

And they appeared so joyful, I hoped to see much more.

But twas just a glimpse of heaven, a land quite far away.

I thanked the Lord for this dream, a glimpse of heaven today.

Dear Parishioners,

St. James Parish is a community of loving, caring and giving people. In the past few years our parish has grown. Unfortunately, not everyone has had the opportunity to meet our new parishioners that have joined our parish in the time that Fr. Julius has been pastor of St. James. To remedy this, we are planning a Welcoming Sunday for every parishioner of St. James to come and visit with the newer parishioners.

This event will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at 10:00 am (after Mass) in the church basement.  A lunch of Sloppy Joes, chips, baked beans, bars, and juice/coffee will be served. In order to have enough food on hand, we will need you to RSVP if you are coming to this wonderful event. Please RSVP to Rose Mueller at 685-8982 by Thursday, May 1, 2008. We hope to see you all there! Any questions, call Rose.
