From the Pastor:  In this Sunday’s gospel, Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well.  In his love and compassion he changes this lady and helps make the rest of her life on this earth so much more meaningful and spiritual.

 

St. James Parish, here in Jacobs Prairie, will be holding its annual meeting this Sunday, February 24th.  St. Anne’s Christian Women and the Men’s Society will meet at 7:00 p.m. followed immediately by the Parish Meeting.

 

There will be a special collection at both Masses next weekend, March 1st and 2nd, for the Catholic Relief Services, formerly know as the Bishop’s Overseas Appeal.

 

St. Boniface Parish in Cold Spring will be holding a Parish Mission this coming week, February 23-28, 2008.  The schedule of events is as follows:

 

Mon., Feb. 25:

10:00 a.m.      Mass at Assumption Home with mission talk

7:00 p.m.        Mass with mission talk “The Mysterious Link between the Eucharist and Real Life” Child care will be provided 7-8:15 pm

 

Tues., Feb. 26:

7:00 p.m.        Mass with mission talk “Love, Loneliness & Lust” followed with refreshments served in the Parish Center.

Child care will be provided 7-8:15 pm.

 

Wed., Feb. 27

4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Communal Penance Service

 

Thurs., Feb. 28

9:15 a.m. Children’s Mass with mission talk

10-11 a.m. Informal discussion on timely moral & faith  issues with Fr. Mulhearn in the Parish  Center.

7:00 p.m. Joyful & uplifting concert and mission talk entitled “Signs and Wonders”.  Concert given by Lorenzo & Fr. Mulhearn.  Followed with refreshments served in the Parish Center.

Child care will be provided 7-8:15 pm.

St. Ann’s Christian Women, Mens Society Meeting: Meeting Feb. 24, 7:00 pm in the church basement.

St. James Parish Annual Meeting: Feb. 24, immediately following the Christian Women and Mens Society Meetings.  Lunch will be served!

Voting for one open council spot will take place this weekend.

Religious Education Program: Class Feb. 27, 2008.  

Lenten Food Drive: The food drive is on and will continue though Holy Week. The religious ed. program sponsors this food drive.

Bring Your Thimble: Quilting on Monday, Feb. 18 at 6:30.  Meet at Irma Heinen’s home, 685-3580.

Card Party: March 2, groups 3 and 4 serve
