A beautiful "Harvest Time"!!
Every year the Dioceses of St. Cloud, Minnesota celebrates their unique partnership with the Diocese of Homa Bay, Kenya. This will again be the case on Sunday, September 14th, 2008 as we celebrated our 10th annual Harvest for Hope!
Harvest for Hope Celebration includes:
A Special Outdoor Mass with Bishop Kinney (at 4:00pm)
Meeting our missioners & friends from Homa Bay, Kenya
A down-home Hog Roast with all the trimmings
Great old time Minnesota Music
Farmers' Market
Fun and Games for children
Learn about sister diocese of Homa Bay, Kenya
Raise funds for our Partnership and Partner Diocese
Fun and Fellowship for the entire family

Last year was a wonderful celebration - Minnesotans and Kenyans alike enjoyed the day greatly! In addition to the fellowship, nearly $5000.00 was raised for the Child Survival Project in Homa Bay through this day's efforts. Thank you to all who made the day possible, thanks to all who joined in the celebration, and thanks be to GOD for the wonderful weather and making us brothers and sisters across the globe!!!

Harvest for Hope is held at the
Urban and Rosie Spanier Farm

Directions to the Rosie and Urban Spanier Farm...
- From I-94, take the Albany Exit (Route 10)
- Turn South and go under the underpass. (the road zig-zags to the right, at the "T" take a right, then take a quick left, but stay on Route 10)
- Make a RIGHT TURN onto Route #30
- Stay on Route #30 - it turns into #176 (straight west), then turns back into Route #30 and later returns back to #176 again - important just to STAY TRAVELING STRAIGHT WEST). After you cross Highway 4, continue straight to the next stop sign, which is Co. Rd. 175.
- At the junction of Co. Rd. #175 make a LEFT TURN (south) (straight ahead is a dirt road). Travel 5.8 miles (when you pass the county road #14 intersection still traveling on #175 you are getting very close to the Spanier farm.) The farm is about 6 farms down #175 after you pass the #14 intersection (stay on #175) - it is on the RIGHT side of the road. The Spanier Farm is the only farm on the right hand side of the road, with a metal archway over the driveway entrance.
- Watch for signs.
