Let us find out how our friends live in Homa Bay.

In the photo to the left you can see some children at a school in the Homa Bay Diocese. These children are learning English. They also speak a second language called Luo, and many even know a third language called Swahili. "Oyaore" means good morning in Luo.

What do you see in the photograph?   How different life in Homa Bay must be in comparison to the way you live. If your computer is capable, you can watch a short video of your friends in Homa Bay by clicking on the photo.

Can you see how much fun the children are having? The children in Homa Bay love dancing and singing. What else do you think the children do for fun?   What games do they play in Homa Bay? What do kids in Homa Bay play with? Girls in Homa Bay love playing a game called net-ball (similar to basketball). Boys in Homa Bay love playing soccer, but soccer is called "football" in Kenya. Children often times make their own toys and balls to play with.   Old plastic bags can be used to make great soccer balls.   Old wire can be used to make amazing toy cars.   Old rags can be used to make homemade dolls. Children in Homa Bay are very creative.

It's truly amazing to learn about kids on the other side of the world.   Although these children from Homa Bay may live very differently, they are kids just like you!   We are all children of God.
