Benton Fair Volunteers

Since 1996, members of KC Council 961 have volunteered their time at the Benton County Fair in Sauk Rapids. The KC's duties include:

• selling tickets for the Midway
• putting bands on the wrists of Midway patrons
• selling tickets for Grand Stand events
• controlling the main Grand Stand entrance.

Volunteers can come alone or bring a family member for company. You can bring a radio or book for entertainment in any slow periods. Ticket sellers work out of secured, air-conditioned booths with two-way radio communication. Arm band and gate volunteers work directly with fairgoers. Personnel are on hand to give brief breaks as needed. Volunteers who have enjoyed past fairs the most have stated that one of the greatest benefits of this project is people-watching because virtually everyone is enjoying the atmosphere.
