The Diocese of Saint Cloud receives numerous requests from people researching
their family histories. Family history research has become one of the fastest
growing uses on the Internet. This is a positive activity, and the church
in no way frowns upon it. However, the
diocese does
not have
the
resources
to
respond
to all these requests which
often
involve
painstaking
and
time intensive
research. Most often, these requests are for information that is kept
in
individual parishes in the diocese (burial or baptismal records, for example).
The Diocese of Saint Cloud encourages you to use our online parishes directory to contact specific parishes for information about family records. When you contact a parish, please introduce yourself, and be as specific as possible about what you are seeking. Bear in mind that many of our parishes operate with minimal support staff. It may be beyond their capabilities to fill your request, or it may take some time.
