Marriage Minute:  What is Marriage?

Marriage is the lifelong partnership of mutual and exclusive fidelity between a man and a woman ordered by its very nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of children. The bond of marriage is indissoluble – that is, it lasts “until death do us part.” At the heart of married love is the total gift of self that husband and wife freely offer to each other. Because of their sexual difference, husband and wife can truly become “one flesh” and can give to each other “the reality of children, who are a living reflection of their love” (Familiaris Consortio, no. 14).

What the Annual Diocesan Appeal Means to Parishioners

This weekend marks the beginning of the 2012 Annual Diocesan Appeal. Every registered household will receive a letter from Bishop Kinney seeking support for the many ministries that support the efforts of our parish in providing pastoral care to our parishioners. Please prayerfully consider how you will respond as a member of the Body of Christ and as a faithful steward of the gifts that God has given to you.  Celebrate our continuing commitment to the Appeal by pledging your support with the materials you will receive in the mail or by using the envelopes found in your pew.

2012 Annual Diocesan Appeal

Did you know that a minimum of 25% of your gift to the Annual Diocesan Appeal directly comes back to our parish? If you have not yet had an opportunity to respond to Bishop Kinney's message, please consider doing so today. The Annual Diocesan Appeal strives to be a foothold for the work already being done at the parish level by providing a variety of services to support diocesan priests and parishioners alike. Services such as marriage courses, TV Mass and Media and Technology support for parishes and schools are just some of the reasons your support is vital to our diocesan mission to be Jesus' heart of mercy, voice of hope and hands of justice.  Without your help, this work would not continue. Please pledge your support today.

OR

Every parish in the Diocese of Saint Cloud has been asked to support the 2012 Annual Diocesan Appeal. Our diocese is made up of 134 parishes, 32 schools and serves over 145,000 Catholics from all walks of life. This is a vital sign of our unity in Christ as we reach out in faith and love to one another. Supporting this appeal is a meaningful way of expressing our gratitude to God for his many blessings. Please prayerfully consider a financial gift to support the work of Christ in our diocese.
